What is PerplexityBot?

In short

PerplexityBot is Perplexity's crawler for finding and linking websites in its search answers. Perplexity says it is not used to train AI models, and it follows robots.txt.

Perplexity also runs Perplexity-User, which opens a page when someone asks about it. Because a person triggers it, Perplexity says it generally ignores robots.txt.
